MX9 remote: WiFi needs ADB; IR needs an IR blaster. Keyboard & swipe navigation.
Use your Android phone as an MX9 TV Box remote for compatible boxes, with WiFi (ADB) or infrared (IR) control. Before connecting: WiFi control requires network ADB debugging on the TV box, not just a shared WiFi connection. IR control requires a phone with an IR blaster and a matching remote profile. Remote controls • Direction buttons, OK, Back, volume and media commands where supported. • WiFi keyboard for printable English letters, numbers and symbols (ASCII). • Touchpad gestures to move the highlighted item: swipe to navigate, tap to select and hold to go back. • Shortcuts to supported apps already installed on your box. • Scan for network ADB endpoints or enter the box's IP address manually. WiFi and ADB setup 1. Connect your phone to WiFi and your MX9 to the same local network. The box may use WiFi or Ethernet through the same router. 2. Enable ADB over network / TCP-IP debugging on the box, on port 5555. USB debugging alone may not be enough. Some firmware requires a computer for initial setup; some boxes do not support network ADB. 3. Find the box's IP address, then scan or enter it in the app. 4. If an authorization prompt appears on the TV, approve this phone with your physical remote. Guest networks or device isolation may block the connection. Wireless-debugging PIN pairing, Bluetooth remote control and WiFi wake-up of a fully powered-off box are not supported. Use network debugging only on a trusted local network and disable it when no longer needed. Keyboard and gesture limits Select a text field on the TV before sending text. The WiFi keyboard accepts up to 1000 printable ASCII characters; accented letters, Arabic, Cyrillic and other non-ASCII characters, and the literal sequence %s, are unsupported. Whether an app accepts text or buttons depends on the box and the target app. Gestures move selection focus, not a mouse cursor. Moving the phone does not control an on-screen pointer. IR remote Point the phone's IR blaster at the box and choose a matching profile. IR does not require a WiFi/ADB connection, but cannot send keyboard text. Available buttons depend on the profile and receiver; Home and other commands are not available in every IR profile. Compatibility MX9 models, firmware and remote codes vary. Compatibility with every MX9 model is not guaranteed. The app interface is currently in English. Contains ads. Independent app, not an official MX9 product. Product and brand names describe intended compatibility.
