Homeschool attendance tracker: log days and hours by subject, print year records
Hornbook is a free homeschool attendance tracker and record keeping app for the days and hours your state asks you to keep. Log each lesson as you teach, count every school day, see how the year is going against your target, and print a clean year record when it's time for a portfolio review, an evaluator or the district. LOG A LESSON IN A TAP • Start the timer when a lesson begins, pause for a break, finish when you're done • Or add a lesson afterwards: subject, how long, and a note on what was covered • Teaching siblings together? Log the lesson once and it counts for each child EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS • Any day with a lesson counts as a day of instruction, automatically • Count a field trip, a co-op day or a test day with a note, no lesson needed • Started partway through the year? Add the days and hours you'd already done YOUR YEAR AT A GLANCE • Days and hours against your target: 180 days, 900 or 1,000 hours, or your own • A pace line that tells you if you're on track, and how many weeks are left • Hours by subject, core subjects marked, and the last twelve weeks as a chart A RECORD YOU CAN PRINT • One tap makes a PDF of the school year for each child • Totals, hours by subject, a month-by-month attendance calendar, every lesson and counted day • A signature line for the teaching parent THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD, ONE RECORD • The other parent, a grandparent who teaches, or an older student join with a six-letter code • Lessons anyone logs count toward the same days and hours • Up to eight students, each with their own grade and color MADE FOR HOMESCHOOLING • Math, reading, writing, science, history and more to start with; add your own subjects • Mark the core subjects some states ask for (Missouri counts 600 core hours of 1,000) • A weekday reminder to log the day's lessons, quiet once they're in Free, with every feature. Hornbook is supported by ads, and there's no account, no email and no subscription. Check your state's homeschool law for what records to keep; Hornbook helps you keep them.
