First release: relative dBFS sound levels, live trend, Fast and Slow response, energy average, reference adjustment, and local numeric sessions with CSV export. Free, ad-free, and offline.
Live sound and noise levels, reference adjustment, and private CSV sessions.
See how the sound around you changes with Decibel Meter: Sound & Noise. This ad-free sound meter keeps live levels, trends, and numeric sessions together in a clear, simple interface. UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEASURE The default unit is dBFS: digital microphone level relative to full scale. Negative readings are normal; 0 dBFS is full scale. This relative dB meter helps compare quieter and louder input. It does not claim to know your phone's absolute sound-pressure calibration. LIVE LEVELS AND TRENDS Read the large live number and dial, choose Fast or Slow response, and view the last minute of sound levels. See minimum, energy average, and maximum values for the session. A clipping indicator flags input that may be limited by the microphone. OPTIONAL REFERENCE ADJUSTMENT If you have a separate sound-level meter, compare both under a steady sound and enter its reference reading. The app applies one offset and clearly labels the adjusted unit. Recheck the reference after changing your microphone, case, audio route, or phone software. KEEP NUMBERS, NOT AUDIO Pause and name a session to keep its numeric measurements on your device. Review saved sessions and export CSV using Android's document picker. Choose the destination yourself. The CSV includes numeric levels and session details, not audio. Keep up to 100 sessions, with measurements up to one hour each. PRIVATE, SIMPLE, OFFLINE No ads, subscriptions, sign-in, analytics, or internet permission. Microphone access is requested when you start. Pausing, opening Help or Sessions, or leaving the app stops the microphone. No audio files are recorded or uploaded. Delete saved sessions in the app and exported files in your file manager. MEASUREMENT LIMITS Phone microphones and built-in processing limit accuracy and range. This noise meter is not a certified SPL instrument, does not implement A/C weighting, and is not intended for health, hearing protection, legal, occupational safety, or regulatory compliance decisions. Requires a microphone and Android microphone permission. All features are free. Support: calebiker7@gmail.com
