First release: offline survival guide, honest compass, rescue card, SOS tools and sky navigation.
Offline survival guide, honest compass, rescue card and SOS tools in one tin.
Escape Tin is your survival tin, in your pocket: an offline field guide, an honest compass and the tools to get found. Built for hikers, campers and anyone who heads off-grid. EMERGENCY? START HERE One big button. Choose what is happening (someone is hurt, you are lost, you need water, you are cold or wet, you need rescue) and follow clear step-by-step cards with field-manual illustrations. Big type you can read with shaking hands. A COMPASS THAT TELLS THE TRUTH • Heading from your phone's rotation and magnetic sensors • Accuracy straight from the sensor. If your phone does not report it, the app says so instead of guessing • True or magnetic north, with declination calculated on your device • Lock a bearing and see when you drift off course • Mark your camp or car and walk back to it: distance and direction, always RESCUE CARD Your position as an MGRS grid reference and latitude/longitude, spelled out in the NATO alphabet so you can read it to rescuers. One tap opens your SMS app with your location; SMS needs phone signal, not mobile data. SOS flash in Morse code, a loud whistle, and a red night mode that protects your night vision. NO COMPASS? USE THE SKY • Sun & watch: today's sun path and where north is from the sun right now • Shadow stick with a 15-minute timer • North Star and Southern Cross: live sky charts for your time and place, drawn from a real star catalogue • Level and slope meter THE FIELD GUIDE Seven chapters ordered by what kills first, the rule of threes: first aid basics, being lost (S.T.O.P.), safe water, cold and wet, shelter, fire and getting found. Clear, illustrated like a field manual, fully available offline. ESCAPE TIN PRO (OPTIONAL) • Unlimited waypoints and GPX export • Satellite view: every satellite your phone sees, with signal strength • Barometer with pressure trend (on phones with a pressure sensor) • Olive & sand theme The guide, compass, rescue card and SOS tools are free forever. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through Google Play (weekly, monthly or yearly). New weekly subscribers may start with a reduced 3-day introductory price; both prices are shown before you confirm. Cancel any time in Google Play. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no tracking. Your location and waypoints stay on your phone. IMPORTANT Escape Tin is a navigation aid and general information. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for training, a physical map and compass, or emergency services. Phone sensors can be inaccurate and batteries run out. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
