Sharpen and deblur photos with 5 scientific algorithms. Presets and batch.
GalileoSharp brings scientific image-sharpening algorithms to your phone. Choose from five methods used in astronomy and image processing, tune every parameter with a live preview, and compare before and after with a wipe slider.
Five sharpening algorithms
• Unsharp Mask - amount, radius, threshold and multi-pass blur, with luminance-only mode and highlight protection
• Laplacian - 4-connected, 8-connected or Difference of Gaussians (DoG) kernels, with a noise gate
• Fourier (frequency domain) - Ideal, Gaussian or Butterworth filters with adjustable cutoff radius and filter order
• Richardson-Lucy deconvolution - the iterative method used to restore early Hubble Space Telescope images; choose a Gaussian, Disk or Motion point spread function
• Wavelet (multiscale) - separate boosts for fine detail, mid frequencies and coarse structure
Target presets
Start from a preset for the Moon, Planets, Deep sky or the Sun. The Sun preset carries a clear safety note: only photograph the Sun through a proper solar filter, because looking at it without one can permanently damage your eyes and equipment.
Features
• Before/after wipe slider on the parameter and compare screens: drag or tap to compare
• Batch mode - sharpen a whole folder of images with the same settings. Batches run in the background with a progress notification you can cancel, and pick up where they left off if interrupted.
• Saves full-resolution results to your Downloads folder
• Works offline - your photos are processed on the device and never uploaded
• Calm Material 3 design in light and dark
Good for astrophotography, planetary and lunar images, old photo restoration, landscapes and scientific imaging.
