Pause: Mindful Scroll Blocker

Most scrolling isn't a decision. It's a reflex. You unlock your phone, your thumb finds the app, and twenty minutes disappear. Pause adds ten quiet seconds between you and the scroll. When you open an app you've chosen, Pause gently steps in first: a calm countdown, a short question, and a simple choice. Go back, or open it anyway. Most of the time, by the time the ring closes, the urge has already passed. HOW IT WORKS • Choose the apps you want to slow down: social media, video, news, games, anything. • When you open one, Pause shows a 10-second countdown with a thoughtful prompt. • "Go back" is always one tap away. "Open anyway" unlocks when the countdown ends. • Chose to open it? Pause gives you a grace period, so a quick reply to a message won't pause you again. SEE YOUR PROGRESS • See how many times you walked away today. • A weekly chart shows your progress, day by day. • A per-app breakdown shows which apps pull at you most. MAKE IT YOURS • 30 built-in prompts, like "Is this a choice, or a habit?" • Write your own messages, the ones only you would say to yourself. • Set the countdown from 5 to 60 seconds and the grace period from 1 to 30 minutes. • Light and dark themes that follow your phone. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Pause has no internet access. Nothing ever leaves your phone. • No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. • Your stats are stored only on your device. ABOUT PERMISSIONS Pause asks for Usage access, to notice when an app you've chosen opens, and Display over other apps, to show its countdown on top of it. It sees only which app is open, never what's inside it, and nothing leaves your phone. Pause doesn't block you or lecture you. It just gives you a moment to choose.
