About KZUM: From the first broadcast in February 1978, KZUM Community Radio has been the vibrant voice of Lincoln, connecting and uplifting our community with an electrifying blend of music, talk programming, podcasts, and community news. Free of corporate influence, and powered by passionate volunteers, we proudly produce over 7,000 hours of programming each year! With weekly shows in Spanish, Vietnamese, and programs highlighting many perspectives like LGBTQ+ and Native/Indigenous, we are committed to showcasing stories and sounds often missing from mainstream media. And the heartbeat of our station? Volunteers spanning seven decades in age, each bringing their own energy, perspective, and joy to our broadcast.
