About this app
Pause doomscrolling with 700 mood-matched Bhagavad Gita shlokas.
Your phone constantly pulls your attention toward social media, videos, messages, and endless scrolling. Over time, reflection and your connection with God can quietly move lower on the list. Shloka helps you change that habit. Before a selected distracting app opens, Shloka creates a mindful pause. Choose how you are feeling and receive a Bhagavad Gita shloka matched to what you need in that moment. It takes less than a minute, but that moment of reflection can change what happens next. HOW SHLOKA WORKS 1. Choose the apps where you want a mindful pause. 2. When a selected app opens, Shloka asks how you feel. 3. Select from eight emotional states. 4. Receive a Bhagavad Gita shloka matched to your mood. 5. Read the Sanskrit, transliteration, and English meaning. 6. Go deeper into the teaching or mark the shloka as read. 7. Continue to the app when you are ready. WHAT IS INSIDE 700 MOOD-MATCHED SHLOKAS Explore all 700 Bhagavad Gita shlokas, matched to emotional states including Stress, Overthinking, FOMO, Brain Fog, Sorrow & Loss, Fear & Guilt, Bored, and Devotional. Shlokas are selected for relevance, not shown randomly. GO DEEPER Discover mood-specific reflections and practical guidance for applying each teaching to what you are experiencing. MINDFUL APP BLOCKER Choose which distracting apps Shloka should pause. Instead of imposing a permanent lock, Shloka creates a short moment for reflection before you continue. ADJUSTABLE COOLDOWN After completing a shloka, selected apps remain available for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or one hour. You can also choose to pause every time an app opens. STREAKS AND EMOTIONAL INSIGHTS Build a daily spiritual practice and see which emotions have been connected to your scrolling. Review your reading rhythm, active days, streaks, and mood patterns over the last 7 or 30 days. MY VERSES Search previously viewed shlokas, browse by chapter or mood, revisit meaningful teachings, and share verses with others. TODAY'S SHLOKA Begin your day with one Bhagavad Gita teaching. A daily reminder and home-screen widget help you keep the practice close. WHO SHLOKA IS FOR Shloka is for anyone who feels that too much attention is disappearing into a phone and wants to replace automatic scrolling with reflection, focus, and spiritual discipline. It is especially meaningful for people who grew up with the Bhagavad Gita, members of the Indian diaspora seeking a stronger connection to its teachings, and anyone drawn to Krishna's guidance. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE USAGE Shloka uses the Android Accessibility Service as a core part of its mindful app-blocking functionality. The service detects when an app you selected enters the foreground and brings Shloka forward to display a mood check-in. It does not read, collect, store, or transmit screen text, messages, passwords, keystrokes, or anything you type. Your selected app list is stored only on your device. Information accessed through the Accessibility Service is not transmitted or used for analytics. The service works only after you explicitly enable it and can be disabled at any time through Android Accessibility settings. Without this permission, Shloka cannot detect and pause selected apps. PREMIUM ACCESS Free-trial and paid-plan terms are displayed before purchase and managed through Google Play. Premium features include Go Deeper and expanded shloka-library access. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through Google Play.
