Free OpenVPN client for public relay servers. No account, no fake stats.
RedHarbor VPN is a free OpenVPN client for Android. It connects you to public relay servers operated by the VPN Gate academic project, with no account, no subscription, and no invented statistics. STRAIGHTFORWARD BY DESIGN Most VPN apps show a green button and call it a connection. RedHarbor only reports a connection after the tunnel is genuinely up and traffic has been verified to flow through it. If that check fails, it says so and disconnects. You never see a fake "protected" state. Your connection profile is re-validated immediately before every attempt, and the server address is pinned to the exact endpoint that was verified — the app never hands a hostname to the tunnel. HONEST ABOUT THE SERVERS The relay servers are run by independent volunteers through VPN Gate, not by us. In practice that means: • Servers appear and disappear without notice, and speed varies by server and time of day • Some servers will not accept a connection at all • VPN Gate states that connection logs are retained for at least three months • Relay operators can see connection information, and any traffic that is not separately protected — for example by HTTPS RedHarbor shows you all of this in a provider disclosure before your first connection, and repeats it inside the app. You should know who is carrying your traffic before you trust them with it. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • No "threat blocker" and no "security score" — we do not invent protection you do not have • No claims about unblocking streaming services; public relays are not built for that • No accounts, no cloud sync • No banner ads while a tunnel is active ADS RedHarbor is free and supported by advertising. Banner ads are hidden whenever the VPN is connecting or connected, so nothing is requested through the tunnel. An interstitial may appear once a connection succeeds. PRIVACY Your favourites, preferences and session history are stored locally on your device. RedHarbor has no account system and does not collect personal data itself. Advertising is provided by Google AdMob, which is subject to its own privacy terms. See the privacy policy for details. REQUIREMENTS Android 6.0 and above. The app requests the VPN permission that Android requires of every VPN app, along with the network-state permissions needed to detect connection changes.
