Improved stability when cancelling document opening or switching documents. Made rendering and PDF export safer when a document is closed.
HWP and HWPX, exactly as authored. Tables to Excel, pages to PDF, on device.
That hwp file someone sent you — it just opens. Ongle is a viewer for hwp, hwpx and hml documents that keeps the original layout. Open the Korean-format document you received by chat or email without converting it first, pull its tables into Excel, and save pages as PDF. Reading and converting happen entirely on your phone. ■ The layout stays put Every character lands where the document says it should. Table cells do not drift and footnotes do not slide onto the next page. What you see on the phone is what comes out of the printer. ■ What it does · Opens hwp, hwpx and hml documents · Saves as PDF — document fonts embedded, charts kept as vectors · Extracts tables to Excel (XLSX) and CSV, with a choice of how merged cells are written · Searches the whole document, including text inside tables and footnotes · Builds an outline automatically and shows page thumbnails · Dark mode with paper inversion for reading at night · Cuts pages, exports images, extracts plain text · Copies equations as LaTeX · Opens password-protected documents · Fills in form fields ■ Questions people ask Q. Does it work without an internet connection? A. Yes. Reading a document and turning it into a PDF both finish on the phone. Q. Do my documents get uploaded anywhere? A. No. There is no upload step in opening, converting or saving. Q. Can I get a table out as a spreadsheet? A. Long-press a table and export it as XLSX or CSV, or copy it to the clipboard as TSV. You choose whether merged cells are written once in the top-left or repeated across the range. Q. Will it open HWP 3.0 files? A. It opens hwp 5.0, hwpx and hml. For older HWP 3.0 documents, open the file once in Hancom Office and save it as hwp 5.0 or hwpx first. Q. The fonts look different from the original. A. When a Korean typeface such as HamchoromBatang is not installed on the device, the text is drawn with a device font. The letterforms change, but every character still sits exactly where the document placed it. Q. Do I need an account? A. No. There is no sign-up and no sign-in. ■ Formats hwp (5.0) · hwpx · hml ■ Made for · Anyone who receives Korean hwp files by chat or email and needs to read them on a phone · Reading official letters, reports and plans while away from a desk · Getting a table out of a document and into a spreadsheet · Turning a Korean document into a PDF to send on · Filling in an hwp form from a school or a government office This app is independent software with no affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement from Hancom Inc.
