Shy? Gaze drills, AI conversation practice & small talk scripts for confidence
Eye Contact is a practice app for one specific social skill: looking people in the eye without it feeling like too much. If your gaze drifts away mid-sentence, if eye contact in an interview or on a first date makes your mind go blank, or if social anxiety turns small talk into a performance, this app gives you short reps you can do in under a minute. The idea is simple: practice in small steps. Start with a 10-second hold, get comfortable, then move up the ladder. Add AI conversation practice and a library of real-life openers, and eye contact becomes something you train instead of something you dread. EYE CONTACT DRILLS ON A TIMED LADDER • Hold a steady, relaxed gaze on an animated focus target for 10, 20 or 30 seconds (45 and 60 seconds with Pro) • Pick a setting for each hold: a warm smile, a calm interviewer, a friendly stranger, a first-date moment and more • A gentle cue midway reminds you to soften your gaze instead of staring AI CONVERSATION PRACTICE • Talk through a full conversation with a roleplay partner: a job interviewer, a first date, a new coworker, or a stranger at a networking event • The partner stays in character, so you rehearse the whole interaction • At the end you get simple feedback: how many follow-up questions you asked, a note on filler words, what went well and one thing to try next time • Free: 1 practice session per week. Pro: unlimited SMALL TALK SCRIPTS AND CONVERSATION SCENARIOS • Five categories: job interview, first date, networking, workplace and casual small talk • Each scenario gives you an opener, a good way to respond and follow-up questions to keep the conversation going • 15 scenarios are free; Pro unlocks all 30 A DAILY REAL-WORLD CHALLENGE • Take your social skills outside the app with one small step a day: smile at a stranger, hold eye contact while saying thanks, ask one follow-up question, start a 2-minute chat • Mark it done to keep your streak alive SHORT LESSONS • Why eye contact feels hard, soften-don't-stare, the triangle technique, starting with 3 seconds, a simple small talk formula, handling a pause without panic TRACK YOUR PROGRESS • Current and longest streak, best hold, total drills, challenges and roleplay sessions • Recent practice conversations with their feedback (last 3 on the free plan, full history with Pro) WHO IT'S FOR • Anyone who feels shy or awkward holding eye contact and wants to build social skills and confidence at their own pace • Anyone whose social anxiety spikes when meeting someone new or speaking up in a meeting • People getting ready for a job interview, a first date, a networking event or a new job • Introverts who want a low-pressure place to rehearse before the real conversation FREE AND PRO Free: drills up to 30 seconds with 10 focus targets, 15 scenarios, the daily challenge, all lessons, streaks and 1 roleplay session per week. The free version shows ads. Eye Contact Pro: the full 60-second ladder and all 20 focus targets, all 30 scenarios, unlimited AI conversation practice, full session history and no ads. Plans and prices are shown in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play. YOUR DATA No sign-up needed: start as a guest, sign in later if you like. Drill, challenge and streak progress is stored on your phone. What you type in AI practice is sent to our server and an AI provider to write the partner's replies and your feedback; we do not keep the conversation text, only usage counts. The app uses Firebase (sign-in, analytics, crash reports) and Google AdMob (ads in the free version). IMPORTANT Eye Contact is a self-help tool for building social confidence. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis and not a substitute for professional help. If social anxiety is getting in the way of your life, a licensed professional is the right next step.
